It’s a new year! The start of a new year always brings with it that feeling of being unstoppable. Anything you couldn’t or didn’t accomplish in 2013 is now water under the bridge. The clock struck midnight and the past year is whisked away – it’s 2014 and you can do whatever you want!

You can stop eating cheetos every day. Or you can START eating cheetos everyday. You can be a better friend. You can go to the gym. You can try to watch all the movies in your queue on Netflix. The sky is not even the limit! Past the sky isn’t even the limit. It’s going to be a great year.

Already, this year is ringing in nicely with a new layout to this blog. A fresh start. A new picture – this time it’s a picture of my shoes and 3 other pairs of shoes that belong to 3 of my favorite people. In this photo taken early in 2013, I was on a taxi boat from Venice to neighboring Murano. I had so much fun on that trip, and it was a great way to start the year. I can think of few better ways to start a year than on a taxi boat puttering around the lagoons of Venice.

I’m working on a list of pretty cool things I did in 2013, inspired by the list created by my great pal/roomie/dance partner. That will come next, as will a roundup of the books I didn’t get to blogging about.

I’m not exactly sure what 2014 will bring, but I do know that I’m going to learn a lot, hopefully accomplish a lot, and take a trip to Ireland with my family. That’s happening. Let’s see what you’ve got, ’14!
