Looking Back!

As mentioned in my previous post, 2013 was a fun year full to the brim with Firsts for me. I wanted to take a look back at some of the biggest moments the year held, and think about what goals have yet to be completed. I was inspired by this crazy person. Here goes.

A List of Things I Did in 2013:

– Started the year in Europe. London, Barcelona, Venice with great friends.

– Visited Kevin and Kelsey in San Francisco.

– Visited Sonoma & Napa Valley on the same trip.

– Visited Karla the dreamer (lots) in Milwaukee.

– Visited study abroad friends in NYC, and LOVED the city unexpectedly.

– Visited Jillian’s sister, brother-in-law, and their new pup in Minnesota.

– Visited Washington, D.C (one of my favorite cities) for a wonderful cause close to my heart.

(Wow I did a lot of visiting. High five!)

– Started a new job.

– Bought a car!

– Joined a volleyball league (my first since playing at Marquette)

– Went to two Bulls games in one week – still unsure how I got so lucky!

– Moved to an apartment in Chicago. BEST. MOVE. EVER.

– Participated in my first 5k that I actually tried to run (read: jog)

– Started a book club with friends

– Joined a yoga studio and committed to practicing 3x a week

– Fostered a puppy.

– Learned how hard it was to foster a puppy.

– Finally made it to the pie shop I wanted to try. And then went again. And again. And again.

– Found an organization I care deeply about, and was inspired by this incredible documentary.

– Went to a ridiculous number of concerts (for me, at least!). This included Mumford & Sons, Frightened Rabbit, Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z, Walk the Moon and Youngblood Hawke, John Mayer and Phillip Phillips, Empire of the Sun, Mike Golden and Friends, Fitz and the Tantrums (twice!), Of Monsters and Men, Little Green Cars.

– Went to Lolla for the first time! (Learned that Two Door Cinema Club and Vampire Weekend are two of the best live shows ever)

– Went to Vegas for the first time for another music festival – rocked out for 2 days with my crazy friends and saw wonderful music. (Highlights – Capital Cities and Vampire Weekend round 2)

And that about wraps it up. I think this is something everyone should do at the end of the year. It’s really reminded me of how many exciting things I was able to do this year! LOADS of music, lots of traveling, and lots of big life moments. Can’t wait to see what happens this year.
