Heard Around the World

One of the funniest things about different languages and cultures is that onomatopoeia and sound expressions differ. Like, REALLY differ. A pig says “oink” in English, but “buu” in Japanese. I’ve personally never heard a pig say “buu,” but… I’ve never been to Japan.

Here are a few super cute infographics that illustrate how things sound in different languages. I know it can be confusing, but don’t fret. If you have any questions you can direct them to Mr. Worldwide.
