NYC. It’s What’s Up.

HarlemNew York City’s new tourism campaign is urging New Yorkers to see more of their own city. NYC currently gets over 50 million annual visitors a year. I’ve been one of them the past two years! On my first trip to New York, I visited a friend who lived in Harlem, so I feel comfortable fully agreeing with the words on this poster. Harlem is totally what’s up.

I went from thinking I wouldn’t like New York to thinking I could live there, at least temporarily. It’s no joke – there’s a reason so many people happily call NYC home, and why it’s practically a living, breathing character in so many movies. It’s a cool place. I’m on board with this campaign, even as a Chicagoan. I’d like to see more of your city, New York.
